Porsche Concours at Old Westbury Gardens

Metro NY PCA chapter ran a great concours at Old Westbury Gardens on Long Island today and it was FUN! Loads of great cars, from stunning 356's to the latest GT2 and Carrera GT3RS, along with 944's, 914's, and 911's of all stripes, even Boxsters and Caymans (Caymen?) were judged and appreciated. I'd do a concours if I was ANAL! The judges went over the cars with a fine-toothed comb. But the owners did themselves proud.

Headed by Concours chairman, David Leonoff, this well-run event brought out aficionados from all over the area. Favorite cars included Gates (not Bill) and son's stunning silver 356SC (my personal fave), some excellent early 911's (S, T, and even a backdated something or other), a nicely done up 914 2.0, and a ton of Turbos. Not sure of the winners (you should be able to see that in a few days on their website), but I can't tell you how much I enjoyed the show. Especially the Speed Yellow '95 Cabriolet!

And I got some nice remarks on my little beast (my car, not my wife). Here's some pics of some.

PC1

Nice air-cooled collection. Beautiful Carrera 2S in the middle.

PC2

Some nice 356's. My old one looked like the one on the right. Except that one didn't have the rot.

PC3

Can't buy this for chump change. Hot 997 GT3RS.

PC4

Yellow 993 Cab. Lots of 993's of all ilks there. Love 'em!

PC5

Nice 914 racer. Obviously not the 2.0 that I mentioned before.

Will post a page with bigger and better shots.
